Vice Principal Ferdi McDermott writes: I’m delighted to announce the launch of two special courses for Fall 2025, focusing on the Great Books of Western civilisation. We’ll be using Professor Anthony O’Hear’s The Great Books as our course book, alongside the original texts themselves, so that students can encounter these authors in their own words and grow in confidence as readers and thinkers within the great tradition we cherish at USA Heritage Academy.
These special courses are intended for students who want to read more deeply, ask good questions, and see how the ideas in the Great Books illuminate history, culture, and the challenges of our own time. I look forward to welcoming those who join us on this journey into some of the most influential works ever written.
